REVIVAL TIME

Isaiah 57:15 “For thus says the High and Lofty One. Who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite (repentant) ones.”

When you dwell with God and God dwells with you, then something happens in you. Your heart and spirit become revived, and that which was dying comes back to life. The desire and hunger for the Word of God and the things of God come back. Your love for the church is restored and you cannot wait to get back to church. A revived heart is enthusiastic and passionate A revived heart is responsive to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and quick to obey His commands.

Humility Is The Birthplace Of Revival

2 Chron 7:14 "If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."

The Pattern of Revival - Six things we can see from this passage:

1. God's People begin to Cry Out in Prayer.
This happens when you get fed up with being sick, sad, and sinful, and all of the consequences that result from it. Desperation leads people to this kind of prayer.

2. God Comes on the Scene
After you cry out in prayer, God begins to show up in new ways, because you have been calling on Him. “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8)

3. The People Repent
When God comes on the scene, we are convicted of even small acts of disobedience and we feel truly repentant. It is impossible to come into the presence of a God, who is described in Isaiah 6:3 as: "Holy, holy, holy" - without feeling your need for repentance and cleansing.

4. God Revives the People
God revives the repentant ones. (Isaiah 57:15) When God comes on the scene, a revival begins to take place within you and times of refreshing and revelation flow from the presence of the Lord.

5. The People begin to Minister and Pour out their Lives into Others
Once you become revived on the inside, you begin to think about the salvation of others. You say within yourself, “I can’t keep this to myself. My family, friends and all I meet need this. And somehow, some way, I am going to reach them. Then you begin to pour yourself out for others, realizing that your life is not just about you. “Freely you have received, freely give” (Matt10:8)

6. God Empowers for service
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at Liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.” Luke 4:18-19

The anointing is Gods tangible power that comes upon you to change you and then empower you for service. As you begin to move out in faith you will experience God’s anointing, and this scripture will start to become a reality in your life. And so begins your supernatural walk with God!

O Lord, Revive us, and Revive Your work. In Wrath remember Mercy and Heal our Nation!
