December 2019 - The Miracle Of Christmas

“Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” (Luke 1:26-28)

The conception and events that surrounded the birth of Christ were miraculous. In fact, everything about Jesus is miraculous! Everything about the Gospel is miraculous! Everything about real Christianity is miraculous! If you take the miraculous and the supernatural out of Christianity, all you have is another lifeless religion. But signs and wonders are never an end in themselves. Signs point towards something that God wants us to understand. All of the events surrounding the birth of Jesus were signposts pointing people to the Saviour!

The virgin birth was a miracle. It defied the laws of nature. But when Mary cooperated with God a miracle took place in her womb. When you learn to cooperate with God, in the working of miracles, you’ll be blessed, too! When your ways please the Lord, He begins to work together with you to do exceptional things. He begins to birth something within your heart by the Holy Ghost.

If you take the miraculous and the supernatural out of Christianity, all you have is another lifeless religion

“Then Mary said to the angel, ‘How can this be, since I do not know a man?’”(Luke 1:30-34)

Mary wanted to know how God was going to do it. But, if we continue to look to the natural, we can miss out on our miracle. Be careful not to analyze things until you talk yourself out of cooperating with God!

“And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.” - (Luke 1:35)

When you’ve done everything you can from a biblical standpoint, yet things are still a mess - you’re a good candidate for a miracle! Your Red Sea will open up! The fiery furnace will not burn you! All things are possible to them that believe!

Notice Mary’s response to all of this: “Be it unto me according to Your Word. She was submissive to the will of God, even though she didn’t understand it with her mind. She knew that God’s Word was real, and God would do what He said He would do!

In essence, she was saying, “I’m willing to cooperate with you, to see this miracle happen.” God is looking for people like that! I may not understand it but, be it unto me according to your Word. One of the hardest things you’ll ever do is fully surrender your will to God. But when you do, you’re ready for a miracle!

Why don’t you go ahead and believe God for your miracle this Christmas? A medical condition? A breakthrough in family relationships? A job or a financial situation? I don’t care how impossible your situation looks today - with God nothing is impossible! When the purposes of God come up against an impossible situation – that’s the place where miracles happen!

Dr. Hazel and I are believing with you for your Miracle Christmas Breakthrough!

November 2019 - Prepared and Positioned for End-Time Revival

Be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and the later rain.” - (James 5:7-8)

I believe this passage of scripture is speaking of the last great outpouring of God’s Spirit before the return of Christ. He is not willing that any perish but all come to the knowledge of salvation. God’s divine intervention is desperately needed in the world today.

There are three main elements needed for this End-Time Revival:

  1. The Sovereignty of God
  2. The conditions in the world and in the church
  3. The preparedness of man and of the church

Often it is our preparedness that is the key to God’s timing. Sometimes it takes years of preparation for overnight success. When man is prepared, God moves in His sovereignty.

When God calls you to do something, he prepares you for it in advance. With Moses, the front steps of the palace and the backside of the wilderness were both necessary to fulfilling his calling. This preparation period can be the most difficult time in your life. Very few people will stand with you during this time. Don’t forget those who do.

God never wastes our experiences, good or bad. Handling adversity is what qualifies you for achievement. It’s what gives you the compassion and understanding to be a good counselor. “God… who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the same comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.” - 2 Corinthians 1:3-4

God always begins with your character and then he works on your calling. Usually He does this in obscurity-you are a work in progress. "In the shadow of His hand He has hidden Me and made Me a polished shaft; In his quiver He has hidden Me." - Isaiah 49:1-3
Without strong character you will not endure.

"Often it is our preparedness that is the key to God's timing."

A vision must first be born in the heart of one person before others can catch it. (Habbikuk 2:1-3) God always gives the main vision to the one who has the main responsibility. And He will never give you a vision you can fulfill alone. If it is bigger than you, you are going to need God and others. We are part of a body and function most effectively when we work in conjunction with others.

It’s normal to become emotionally invested in the work God has called you to do. Nehemiah wept when he heard of the condition of God’s work and God’s people. People are passionate and compassionate about those things that touch their heart. It’s what makes you sad and what makes you mad. What stirs your passion? What touches your heart? Is it family, politics, business, youth, music, multimedia, leadership, church growth/planting, missions? The Lord instills within us a passion for those things He has uniquely called and gifted us to do. (Psalm 37:4)

The key to willpower is want-power. You must want it enough to get up earlier, stay up later, and do whatever it takes. God knows what you are being trained for and, when the time is right, He will make it clear to you. In the meantime, stay in school and keep learning. If we will get ourselves ready, our time and opportunity will come!

Yours for End-Time Revival, World-Wide harvest of souls, and the Return of Christ!

October 2019 - Winning The Battle For Our Nation

Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.”

When a people and their leaders follow the principles in God’s Word, God will exalt them. To exalt means to: Promote, Prosper and Protect that nation. Sin is a violation of God’s principles and commandments. It is going against the will of God and it will bring “reproach to any people.” Reproach means to: disgrace, degradation and bringing to nothing! This is a warning for us who live in this nation.

“When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him.” - (Isaiah 59:19)
The enemy is attacking our nation right now with a flood of wickedness:

  • The flood of pornographic material - the seed bed for sexual sin and abuse of all kinds

  • The flood of homosexuality, fornication, adultery, gender confusion and fluidity

  • The unrestricted practice of abortion

  • The problem of divorce as a normal practice and the prevalence of common law relationships

  • The epidemic abuse of drugs and alcohol

  • The onslaught of violence and corruption

Ezekiel 22:23-31 illustrates how sin will bring any land to ruin. Four groups of people are mentioned:

  1. The Prophets - those that stand behind the pulpits of the nation

  2. The Priests – believers, the church, God’s people

  3. The Princes – the politicians, bureaucrats, the uber-rich

  4. The People – those whose fate often lies in the hands of the first three groups

If we choose to sin, we also choose to suffer. If we choose to break God’s laws, we also choose the consequences. Verse 30 shows us God’s solution: An Intercessor.

Abraham and Moses stood in the gap for Israel. Daniel also stood in the gap for Israel and while he prayed there was a battle going on in the spirit realm. We are all called to be Gap-Fillers, not Gap-Finders! Do you love this country? Do you believe it’s worth fighting for, worth saving? Then what are you going to do to help preserve this great country?

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves and pray.” - (2 Chronicles 7:14)
God puts the responsibility of the healing of the nation squarely upon the shoulders of the church!

  1. Humble themselves and pray and seek God’s face – It’s time to get serious about seeking and serving God. Call upon God today! (Hosea 10:12)

  2. Turn from their wicked ways. Repentance - turn from kingdom of self to kingdom of God; turn from self promotion to God promotion; turn from self suffiency to self examination.

  3. Seek God for a spiritual awakening. A revived Church. (1Corinthians 15:33) “Awake unto righteousness and do not sin.” God’s people and God’s work must be revived. (Isaiah 57:15)

  4. Stand in the gap through the power of intercessory prayer. Pray for righteous political leadership. (1 Timothy 2:1-2) “First of all pray for those in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and reverence.”

  5. Get involved in the political process; with moral concerns, and advocacy groups. Make your vote count! Raise up the standard and hold it high! Politics is a very credible place to serve God. (Romans 13:1-5)

Psalm 33:12 “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord”

Yours for an International, World Wide Revival!

September 2019 - Church Its Time To Wake Up

Eph 6:10-12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.”
We live in a spiritual world that influences every aspect of our lives. Just because we can’t see spirits all the time does not mean they are not there. We are, and will continue to be, in an intense spiritual warfare until the time Christ returns. There is no such thing as a peaceful co-existence between the kingdom of darkness and the kingdom of light! There are only two spiritual kingdoms and you are either in one or the other. (Col 1:13)

Psalm 2:1-5Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and rulers counsel together, against the Lord and against His Anointed.”
When the righteous live according to Godly standards, they bring conviction to, and put restraints upon, the unrighteous. When Gods servants speak out against adultery, abortion, same-sex marriage, homosexuality, divorce, pornography, drugs, and corruption - the unrighteous rage against these restraints. This has become very blatant over the last fifteen years. At the same time the church has forfeited much moral ground through apathy, complacency, and the lack of willingness to stand up and fight for what is right.

Militant, Merciful and Miraculous

The church is called a mystery in the book of Ephesians. (3:9-10) Paul reveals this mystery by portraying the church in a number of different ways: a Temple (2:21-22); a Family (3:14-15); a Body (4:15-16); a Bride (5:25-27, 32); and an Army (6:10-17). These are all different portraits of the church.
Ezekiel 37:4-10 “O dry bones hear the word of the Lord! So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them and they lived and stood upon their feet, an exceeding great army.”
The Revived Church is Militant as Well as Compassionate
Militant means to be engaged in warfare, aggressive in a cause. (Matt 11:12) Many people say they have faith, but they have no fight! Without fight, Caleb would never have lived and enjoyed his inheritances. Paul would never have finished his course with joy. We have to learn how to put on the whole amour of God and fight the good fight of faith, so we too can finish our course with joy!
Only A Revived Church Can:

  1. Restore righteousness to a city, a state, and a nation (Prov 14:34)

  2. Make ready a people prepared for the Lord (Luke 1:17)

  3. Make Jesus Lord over all the earth (Ps 72:8)

We desperately need a Spiritual Awakening, and preferably before the next Canadian and USA national elections. We don’t want backslidden, lukewarm, biblically illiterate Christians voting on our future. We need a revived church that has repented, come back into its right mind, and is willing to fight for our land, our families, our freedom, and our future. We need an exceeding great spiritual army to emerge out of this heap of very dry bones.

Yours for a Revived Church and a Worldwide Spiritual Awakening!

August 2019 - How God Blesses and Judges Nations

“For behold, the Lord, the Lord of hosts, takes away from Jerusalem and from Judah, the stock and the store, the whole supply of bread and the whole supply of water; The mighty man and the man of war, the judge and the prophet, and the diviner and the elder; the captain of fifty and the honorable man, the counselor and the skillful artisan, and the expert enchanter.” (Is 3:1-3)

One way that God judges a nation or a people, is to remove all good, godly leadership.

Notice that in this passage, good leadership is withdrawn from almost every sector of society: religion, the political system, business and the economy, the military, the judicial system, and the educational institutions!

“I will give children to be their princes, and babes shall rule over them. The people will be oppressed… For Jerusalem stumbled, And Judah is fallen, because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to provoke the eyes of His glory. The look on their countenance witnesses against them, and they declare their sin as Sodom; They do not hide it. >Woe to their soul! For they have brought evil upon themselves.” (Isa 3:4-9)

The real reason for all their problems is clearly stated in the eighth verse: their stubborn, unrestrained, and arrogant violation of God’s principles.

We are certainly living in the last of the Last Days. Scripture tells us it will be like the days of Noah, or the days of Sodom and Gomorrah. In the last few years we have seen the legalization of homosexuality, easy divorce, gay marriage, abortion on demand, legal prostitution and drugs, the list goes on and on. The Ten Commandments, the Bible, and prayer have all been removed from the courts of law and from the public-school systems. Violence and corruption have increased, and we have judicial systems without any real absolutes.

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Prov 14:34) The job of a leader is not to take the people where they necessarily want to go, but where they need to go. Parents don’t take their children where they want to go all the time. They take them or send them where they ought to go.

The trouble with democracy is that the multitudes are usually wrong according to this scripture. (Matt 7:13) If there are no moral absolutes and people are left to set their own laws, it’s not too long before they have set them so low that no one can break them! Democracy will only work effectively where Christian values are widely embraced. Otherwise people will vote for all the wrong leaders, for all the wrong reasons, and babes and children are voted into power.

God blesses a nation by raising up and advancing godly leadership

(1 Sam 12: 6-12) “Then Samuel said to the people, “It is the Lord who raised up Moses and Aaron. When Jacob had gone into Egypt and your fathers cried out to the Lord, then the Lord sent Moses and Aaron who brought your fathers out of Egypt and made them dwell in this place. And when they forgot the Lord their God, He sold them into the hand of Sisera, commander of the army of Hazor.

Thank God for the USA and Canada; two great nations that were both founded by leaders who revered the God of the Bible. The founding fathers of Canada read Psalm 72:8: “He (Jesus) shall have dominion from sea to sea.”  They called it the ‘Dominion of Canada’. Three of the top universities in the USA: Yale, Harvard and Princeton were all established to train ministers of the gospel. The founding fathers knew that if the nation were to prosper the Gospel of Christ must be preached, believed and lived.

“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chron 7:14)

In this passage of scripture, God places the healing of a nation squarely on the shoulders of His people. If we do our part in how we pray and how we vote, then God will do His part by healing the land.

Yours for a new generation of godly leaders in our nation!

July 2019 - Recognizing And Releasing Potential

1. When you see God’s potential you become a dreamer. God is the creator of the universe and you are created in His image. “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly-abundantly-above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” (Eph 3:20) The dreams I like come through deep, imaginative thinking on the word of God and prayer; dreams that solve problems, help people, and expand God’s Kingdom. Anyone can have these kinds of dreams.

2. When you see your own potential you become an achiever.
To as many as receive Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God.” (John 1:12) We were born the first time with the potential as sons of men, but when we were born-again, we became sons of God with a totally new potential - to walk even as He walked. (1 John 2:6)
“These signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues, ...they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover… And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs.” (Mark 16:17-20)

In Judges 6, the angel was speaking to Gideon’s potential when he called him, ‘A mighty man of valor, deliverer of Israel’. Same with Jeremiah. “Before you were born, I sanctified you; I ordained you, a prophet to the nations.” Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.” (Jer 1:5-6) But the Lord corrected Jeremiah and said to him, “Do not say ‘I am a youth.’ For you shall go to all whom I send you.” When God says you shall, don’t say you can’t. God revealed to him his potential – ‘Jeremiah you were born for this! Now get your eyes off your problems and onto your potential and you will become a great achiever.’

3. When you see potential in others, and you become a leader.
“The purposes of God in a man’s heart are like deep water, but a man of understanding draws it out.” (Prov 20:5) Barnabas (Son of Encouragement) saw the potential in Paul when no one else did.

When God says you shall - don't say you can't

“Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of Jonah. You shall be called Cephas. (which is translated, A Stone).” (John 1:42) In other words, “This is who you are, but this is who you shall become.” God took Peter through a process from being a reed, to becoming a stone and finally he was called a pillar.

My definition of the Victory Spirit is one that looks for the good, believes the best, and is willing to take a risk on people. The world desperately needs more visionary leaders: pastors, politicians, parents, and business owners, etc. - who can see the potential in the people they lead and can draw it out.

Lord anoint us with fresh oil, that our eyes might see the potential in us and around us.

Yours for eyes to see Gods Potential, Our own Potential, and the Potential in others.

June 2019 - Prophetic People

“It shall come to pass in the last days, says God. That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; your sons and daughters shall prophesy… and on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy.” - Acts 2:16-18

As we look back over forty years of ministry. We can see many times when a prophetic word and impartation has dramatically changed us, protected us, and directed us.

  1. The spirit of prophecy reveals the mind and counsel of Christ in specific situations. Rev 2:7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” There are numerous accounts in both the Old Testament and New, when people needed and received a very specific word from God.

  2. Prophetic people position themselves to hear the voice of the Lord. They know where they have been and understand it. They know where they are, and they know where they are going. 1Tim 1:18 “This charge I commit to you, son Timothy, according to the prophecies previously made concerning you, that by them you may wage the good warfare.”

  3. Prophetic confession releases prophetic power. We received a prophetic word in 1979: “If you change your confession, I will fill this place.” Our problem was identified, and our potential was revealed. We changed our negative, discouraging confession and our prayers. Job 22:2 “You will also declare a thing (Revelatory Word), and it will be established for you.” This was really the origin of Hazel’s bestselling book, ‘Praying Gods Word’. Within three months we baptized 23 brand new converts. From that time on we quickly filled every building we moved into, and finally we bought forty-three acres of land upon which this world-wide movement would be birthed.

"Prophecy Reveals Your Potential"

4. Prophecy reveals your potential and releases the creativity and power to succeed in what God has called you to do. When we had only five Victory Churches, a prophetic person declared, “God will give you 25 Churches.” The next time this person came to minister we had 25 churches! He spoke again and said, “God will give you 100 churches”. We had grown to around 80 churches when another prophetic person prophesied and said, “God will give you 1800 churches.” I put this on the shelf until one day I was asked if I thought that what we had done in Canada would work in other nations. I said, “I believe the Victory purpose, vision and principles will work in any nation of the world. The methodology may change, but the purpose, vision and principles are timeless and will work in any place and at any time. Suddenly, I could see how the prophecy of 1800 churches could be fulfilled! All we would need is 18 nations with 100 churches in each nation and we would have 1800 churches around the world. This became an ‘Above and Beyond’ reality just a few years ago. Our potential was revealed, creativity and power were released, and the mission was fulfilled!

“For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” - Rev 19:10

May 2019 - Leaders Must Stay On The Leading Edge

“When leaders lead in Israel, when the people willingly offer themselves. Bless the LORD!” - Judges 5:2

It all begins with leaders leading. Everything rises or falls on leadership. Growth in six areas is needed to keep yourself on the leading edge:

1. Ability to turn negative situations around
We must be like thermostats not thermometers. We can set the spiritual temperature by speaking positive faith filled words into negative situations and correcting bad behavior. Prov. 12:25 “Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression. But a good word makes it glad.” Prov. 9:8 “Do not rebuke a scorner, lest he hate you: Rebuke a wise man, and he will love you.”

2. Ability to motivate people
We must be able to feed, pray for, encourage and motivate ourselves in the Lord. (1 Sam 30:6)
There will be times when there will be no one to encourage us. If we do not learn to encourage ourselves like David did, we will be knocked out of the race. Encouraged people encourage people. Discouraged people discourage people. Acts 4:36-37 “Joses, who was named Barnabas by the apostles (which is translated Son of Encouragement.)” Encouragement was the outstanding characteristic of the nature of Barnabas.

3. Ability to attract the right people
We tend to attract, not who we want, but who we are. People of like spirit and faith - not necessarily perfect people, but growing people who are advancing and maturing. People of purpose want to identify with people who are moving in the same direction.

4. Ability to think strategically
Purpose, vision, goals, plans. Where are we going and how are we going to get there?
Hab. 2:2 “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it”
A leader must not only have a vision of a better future, but a credible plan of how to get there. We set S.M.A.R.T. goals: Specific-Measurable-Achievable-Realistic-Timely!

5. Ability to be able to create something out of nothing
Leaders must be willing to be pioneers – to lead the way into uncharted territory when needed. To develop new roles, tackle new challenges, and seek new horizons. God’s creative power and provision always follows God’s purpose. Read Luke 10:1-9.

6.  Ability to see the funny side of life
A good sense of humor will help you get through a lot of difficult situations. Don’t lose your joy in doing what God has called you to do. Acts 20:23-24. “That I may finish my race with joy.” A buoyant attitude will help lift the morale of your whole team.

Yours for a new generation of creative, leading leaders!

April 2019 - Creating A Climate That Attracts Leaders

Both local churches and church planting movements, like Victory Churches, must be able to train up new leaders and attract leaders who are already trained. If there are no new leaders a movement will eventually stop moving and begin to die.It took Jesus three years to find and develop 120 leaders. We may not be able to do it any quicker, but we can certainly fast track some. Remember that those closest to you will also determine your own level of success. How can we create the kind of atmosphere that attracts leaders? What are leaders and potential leaders looking for? They will be attracted to you if:

  1. They believe they can learn from you and grow under your ministry. (Matt 4:19). All leaders want to grow. It’s hard to sit under someone who is a poor leader, or someone who has stopped growing and fallen behind you in their development. You must keep growing yourself. As you keep growing, the kind of leaders you will attract will get better. Make sure, when they do come, that you’re not threatened or intimidated by them.

  2. There is opportunity for promotion if they perform well. It’s important to have small groups and new church plants because they give leaders the opportunity to demonstrate their leadership skills. They can grow from being a leader of 5’s to 10’s, 50’s, 100’s, and 1000’s according to the Exodus 18 Principle. It’s important to have a list of potential leaders and a list of potential positions always in mind. A well-designed flow chart can help make this visible to others. As you pray over these lists and give thought to both the people and the positions, you’ll be amazed how God will reveal where people fit best. Maximum fit = minimum stress.

  3. You have a big vision. Big vision attracts, builds, and releases big leaders. President De Gaulle said to Winston Churchill, “If you do big things you will attract big people; if you do little things, you’ll attract little people and little people will cause you lots of problems.” Leaders will ask themselves, “Is there room enough in this church and this movement for my calling and giftings?” Give your people a challenge that will stretch them. “Attempt great things for God, expect great things from God” (William Carey).

  4. They see an environment that is challenging, creative, and flexible, along with order and good leadership. Don’t be afraid to ask leaders for commitment. If you don’t, you’ll lose people; and if you do, you’ll lose people. It all depends on which group you want to keep and which group you want to lose. If you ask for commitment, you’ll keep the winners and lose the whiners. The choice is yours - choose life!

In 2 Kings 4, the miracle of multiplication never stopped until they had no more empty pots to pour into. Gather as many potential leaders as you can and keep pouring into them. Keep winning souls and making disciples. As soul winning flows from relationship, leadership flows from discipleship.A Chinese proverb says, “If your vision is for a year, plant wheat. If your vision is for ten years, plant trees. If your vision is for a lifetime, plant people.” And I could add: If your vision is for eternity, plant churches and grow leaders that impact eternity! (Ecc 3:11)

Yours for a vision that goes far beyond this life!

March 2019 - Convergence

In simple terms, convergence is about things coming together and flowing together. It’s when you are in that flow; when you are doing what you were created to do; when your gifts, talents, skills, and passions are all flowing together. This can take place on both a personal and a professional level.
Consider the Four Faces of Jesus we can see in the in the Gospels – often viewed as different personality types:

  1. Mathew - the face of a Lion. Christ was born King of the Jews. If you are like the face of a lion, you are task focused, fast paced, and love a challenge.
  2. Mark - the face of an Ox. The tireless wonderworking Servant of God. If you are like the face of an ox, the suffering servant, you love people, you are nurturing, and you do not like strife.
  3. Luke - the face of Man. Jesus the Son of Man - a people person. If you are like the face of a Man, you are a social person, you have charisma, and people are attracted to you.
  4. John - the face of an Eagle: Jesus the Son of God. If you are like the face of an eagle, you may tend to be a perfectionist.

In order for there to be unity in the Body of Christ, we need to be able to appreciate the uniqueness of the way that God made us and others. When God puts a team together, He always does it with variety and diversity. Understanding everyone’s respective strengths and weaknesses allows us to begin unlocking the power of convergence.

CONVERGENCE IS A JOURNEY TOWARDS MATURITY AND HARMONY WITH YOURSELF AND YOUR TEAM

Example: Paul and Barnabas were a great apostolic team.

Barnabas was like a man and an ox. Paul was like a lion and an eagle. But their differences brought them into conflict. (Acts 15:37-41 Barnabas’ nephew). Their differences eventually ended their friendship because they couldn’t reconcile each other’s God-given uniqueness.

Example: Peter and John were a great apostolic team.

John was prophetic and nurturing - the eagle and the ox. Peter was a combination of the lion and the man. This team flowed well because Jesus had trained them how to get along with people who were different to themselves. The twelve apostles of Christ were all very different. (John 13:34-35) A great team has all four personalities within it and knows how to flow as one.

Conclusion

Convergence does not happen until you honour the way you were made. You must recognize that you have both strengths and limitations. You will never finish great tasks if you do not learn to honour the variety that God has placed in other people.

Together we win!
