God Will Multiply Finances and Resources if believers will honor God in the tithe and then sow finances into one of His righteous causes. (Psalm 35:27)
The order for giving and supernatural living is first the tithe (covered in Part 5a) and then offerings (covered in this lesson Part 5b).
The tithe we owe (designated by God) and the seed we sow (designated by us). Last month’s lesson was on the Lord’s tithe. This lesson, is on the offerings.
“He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and He who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity for God loves a cheerful giver. As it is written: “He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness.” (2 Corinthians 9:6-10)
Sowing Offerings is as each one purposes in their own heart.
You choose how much, how often and where you want to sow your seed. It may be need giving, seed giving or deed giving. Sow wisely, Sow abundantly, sow continuously, sow cheerfully and sow in faith!
The scripture says, God gives seed to the sower, not the hoarder. It goes on to say that God will multiply the seed sown, not the seed that is eaten or the seed that stays in the barn.
“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, let the Lord be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servants.” (Psalm 35:27)
God prospering us is not about self-enrichment, it’s about kingdom expansion. Money is not the root of all evil, it’s a wrong relationship with money that is. Money takes on the nature of the person whose hands it’s in, if it’s in the hands of an evil person it is an amplifier of evil, if it’s in the hands of a righteous person it is an amplifier of good. I have seen what a few godly, successful, business people can do when they favor and invest in Gods righteous cause.
Simon Peter fished all night and caught nothing Luke 5:1-4
Jesus used Peter’s fishing business boat, to teach the multitudes of people around the Sea of Galilee. “Now when He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch…..and when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish and their net was breaking.”
Business person, why don’t you try using your business as a means to doing Gods business. When you get involved in Gods business-He will get involved in yours. The disciples knew how to fish, but Jesus knew where the fish were biting. Sales person, Jesus can show you where, when and what the customers are buying.
Sacrificial giving to advance the Kingdom.
My wife and I have given up many things for the gospels sake, things that at the time, we considered very sacrificial. As a result the following passage of scripture became very real to us.
“Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or wife or children or lands for My sake and the gospel’s, who shall not receive a hundredfold now in this time-houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions-and in the age to come eternal life.” (Mark 10:29-30)
Sacrifice is the culture of the Kingdom, it is what releases the life, blessings and miracle working power of God.
Jesus’ disciples, asked a hungry young lad for his lunch, five loaves and two fish, I’m sure it was a sacrifice for this young lad. But he gave it for the cause. The disciples took his lunch to Jesus, who blessed it and the miracle of multiplication took place and 5,000 men were fed to the full. The disciples gathered up the fragments and they filled twelve baskets with the fragments. (John 6:5-13) Our little becomes much when it’s placed in the masters hands.
Many moves of God start in a cave of power and end up in a Cathedral without purpose, because they stop sacrificing and giving of themselves. Then, the movement becomes a monument and a museum to the past.
To experience, continuous Kingdom living and blessing you have to keep a light touch on the things of this world. Because very often God will ask you to give up what you have in your hand, for what He has put in your heart. The intangible vision in your heart will grow bigger and more important than what you have in your hand. This is when you have to give up, to go up-this is where a lot of people get stuck and everything begins to dry up.
God never asks you to give what you cannot give, but He will ask you to give what you prefer to keep. God will never ask you to do what you cannot do, but He will ask you to do what will terrify you.
I am convinced that every true believer will be asked at some point in their life to make a big sacrificial gift, one that will stretch their faith and expand Gods kingdom. Once you have been stretched you will never shrink back to the same size.
My wife and I have discovered that we cannot out-give God. Whatever we have given up for the kingdoms sake, God has always measured it back to us pressed down, shaken together and running over.
“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen” (2Cor 1:20)
