A Kingdom is an area where a king rules and reigns.
The Bible talks of the Kingdom of God/Heaven/Light, the kingdom of darkness, and the kingdoms of this world. These kingdoms are incompatible with each other. There can be no such thing as a peaceful co-existence between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. And there will be no lasting peace in this world until the Prince of Peace returns to set up his kingdom of peace. (Isa 9:6-7)
The Business of the Kingdom
- To gather a people who demonstrate God’s holiness and supremacy to the world. (Matt 16:18)
- To demonstrate the devil’s defeat to the whole world. (Luke 10:17-19, Acts 10:38)
- To take the gospel of the Kingdom to all tribes, tongues, and nations. (Matt 24:14, Acts 1:8)
- To finally see this prophetic scripture become a reality on the earth: “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of our Lord and of his Christ; and He shall reign for ever and ever.” (Rev 11:15)
- To gather a people who demonstrate God’s holiness and supremacy to the world. (Matt 16:18)
Kingdom Battles
But in order for kingdom business to be fulfilled and kingdom blessings to be experienced, we are going to have to fight the good fight of faith. (1 Tim 6:12) Apostle John said, “The whole world around us is under the power of the evil one.” (1 John 5:19) Apostle Peter said, “The god of this world has blinded the minds of them that believe not.” (2 Cor 4:4) During the temptations of Jesus, Satan claimed ownership of the kingdoms of this world. (Matt 4:8-11) It is clear that we are in a battle! “The kingdom of God suffers violence, but the violent take it by force.” (Matt 11:12)
Jesus told us to pray, “Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” Why tell us to pray for His will to be done, if His will was already being done on earth? (Matt 6:9-10) Through prayer we “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life.” Now is not the time for a peacetime mentality or a peace-at-any-cost philosophy. We are at war! (Acts 14:22) “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.” This means learning to put on the whole armour of God and take up the weapons of our warfare, which are mighty through God! As we win kingdom battles, we enter into kingdom blessings!
In order to experience Kingdom Blessing in our lives:
- We must personally join the Kingdom of God. (Col. 1:13, John 3:3, Luke 17:21)
- We must receive the Holy Spirit’s power and authority (Acts1:8)
- We must share and demonstrate the Gospel to others so they too can experience kingdom living, blessing, and authority. “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God.” (Acts 26:18)
- We must live according to kingdom principles – God’s wisdom, not man’s wisdom. (Rom 14:17, Matt 6:33) We must believe the Word above our circumstances; we must confess what we believe and not what we see or feel; we must walk by faith and not by sight, knowing that as we obey kingdom principles - kingdom promises and blessings will become a reality in our lives.
- We must personally join the Kingdom of God. (Col. 1:13, John 3:3, Luke 17:21)
Yours till His Kingdom come and His will is done!
